Planning for CVS Week of Oct. 11

With 5EB (Extracare Bucks) expiring on the 20th of this month, I'm looking for great deals at CVS that not only save me money but give me 5EB back. Basically, after investing a little bit of money into CVS, I want to try and get it so that I pay for everything with just my EBs. It is difficult but hopefully not impossible.

Gold Emblem Deals

Currently, some CVS stores have Gold Emblem snack and grocery items on sale for a $1.00. If you use the Save $2 and Save $1 coupons from CVS then you can get these items for free! Not only that but this deal can be turned into a moneymaker with a 0.20 cents rebate from ibotta!

For me, my local CVS is having a 10/$10 deal on Gold Emblem products and other grocery items next week. Unfortunately, I cannot see all of the specific items online right now but this seems like it could be a great deal. CVS also has two more Gold Emblem coupons: Save $1 off trail mix, cereal bar or nuts, and Save $2 off any two nut, nut blends or trail mix items.

Not all nuts are a part of this sale though. Pistachios are $10 and give back 2EB. The Roasted or Party Peanuts will be $4 and give back 1EB. It might be possible to use the two new coupons on the party peanut deal making it cost only $1 and with the 1EB that it gives back, this item could be potentially free.  (-$3 from the coupons and -$1 from the EB you get back).

There is also a 2/$5 deal on selected cookies, crackers, trail mix or pretzels that gives back 1EB. With the two trail mix coupons, you could possibly get two bags of trail mix for $1 (-$3 from the coupons and -$1 from the 1EB you get back).

I actually have 1 $1EB print out that means I could possibly pay nothing upfront on the two deals above. (I have $6 worth of EB total at the moment, just so you know).

If you still have the Save $1 coupon on any grocery or beverage items, spices are on sale 2/$3. The coupon would make each spice $1. Spices include vanilla extract. They also give back 1EB.

Other Deals

There will be another chance to grab three bags of Halloween candy for $6. An instant $3 coupon will print giving you $3 off if you buy three bags of Kit Kat or Reese's candy. This is great because we've eaten some of the Halloween candy in this house already.

Dawn Dishwashing Soap and Scott Single Roll toilet paper are both on sale for 0.99 cents. There is also an app-only 0.25 cents savings deal making one of these items 0.74 cents. For dish soap, the Ajaxx deal is still better though unless you can use another 0.25 cents off manufacturer's coupon which would make the Dawn dish soap 0.49 cents. But I have a feeling that it might not work if the app-only coupon is a manufacturer's coupon s well.

Purex is on same 2/$5 and ibotta is offering a $1.25 rebate deal on one Purex. This would make one bottle of laundry detergent $1.25.

Finally, check your email because I just got a 20% Off coupon from CVS.

My Shopping Plans
  • Halloween Candy $6
  • Gold Emblem Popcorn/Grocery moneymaker deal
  • Gold Emblem trail mix or peanut deal (Free or $1)
  • 1 Purex bottle ($1.25)

EB Get Back: 1EB
